Note - NEVER run Special K while you’re playing any game that isn’t fangames (especially multiplayer games) - Special K is very sus to anti-cheat because how it works is very similar to hacks/cheats.

dgVoodoo 2 Configuration

  1. Run dgVoodooCpl.exe
  2. Right click General/Glide/DirectX → Select Show all section of the configuration
  3. Select GeneralExt → Set Presentation Model as Flip discard
  4. Select DirectX → Change VRAM into 512 to 4096 Megabytes (Depends on which fangame you’re playing and which GPU you have - try changing these if you meet problem)

dgVoodoo 2 ‘Patch’

  1. Copy-paste dgVoodoo.conf and MS\x86\D3D8.dll, D3D9.dll into your fangame folder
  2. Check if you have dgVoodoo watermark in your fangame (You can disable watermark by changing config with dgVoodooCpl.exe)

Note - Fangames using gm82dx9.dll shows an error on start, but it should work properly then. (Most verve 8.2 and renex engine games use it)

How to use Special K (Optional)

WARNING : Do not use Special K with any non-I wanna games! Anti-cheat hates Special K and you may get banned. Note that there are ‘start on boot’ option in Special K, which can be dangerous.

  1. Reboot if you’re unsure if you’re running non-I wanna games.
  2. Run Special K
  3. Run (dgVoodoo+dbghelper patched) fangame
  4. Start Special K Service in Special K GUI
  5. Ctrl+Shift+Backspace in fangame opens settings. Good luck experimenting!
